I adopted Lola (formerly Roberta) from Wayside Waifs in August 2013. She had been found roaming the streets in Hutchinson, KS and was transferred to Kansas City when the local shelter there had run out of room. As a result of roaming the streets for an indefinite amount of time, when she arrived at Wayside she had quite a few insect bites/bumps on her head and was experiencing nasal/throat congestion. I suspect that these factors deterred other potential adopters from selecting her. When I first saw her photo on Instagram, it was love at first sight. We had an immediate connection - choosing to bring Lola into my home was the best decision I have ever made. Her caring and gentle personality has really opened up after a year with me and I couldn’t possibly love her more than I already do. She completes me.
